Maybe
Vinnie is guilty of trying too hard - only the
producers
know for sure. But with the ability to change his
name and personality to fit the goals of the meeting
or presentation, another word for it would be flexibility.
In appearance, he is a twin to CHOPS who can change
his hair color and eyes to that dark, European look
that is so well loved in modern times, while being
so classical.
Above, you'll see
Virtual Vinnie on the stage as "Maximum Opportunity" for
Williams/Gerard's production for PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
The stage was 80 feet across and Vinnie was 16
feet tall, projected onto one of the screens in
a Washington DC hotel ballroom.
In attitude,
he is at his best as an impatient New Yorker or even
a Chinese national with a message from the future.
When he appeared
in China in the summer of 1998, a gentleman who
spoke
both English and Chinese brought him to life on a big
screen. His looks had been localized for the Chinese
audience, because we darkened his hair, thinned his
eyebrows and tinted his skin color. The rest was simple,
and the show was incredibly effective for the producer's
client, Hewlett Packard. We sat alongside the actor
and effectively puppeteered the presentation.
We had done
a similar change just about a year before, when our
client wanted to bring Vinnie to the Philippines and
perform as the character himself.
Virtual
Vinnie is also the character behind "Cyber Pro" for
Professional Golf Commerce of Colorado. He has appeared
at two PGA tradeshows now, to sell golf pro shop owners
on the merits of doing business over the Web.
So if you
want your own look to CHOPS, and
to give him a name that fits in with your program,
you'll actually be
choosing Virtual Vinnie in some form, and that's fine
with us. That is what he is there for, to serve you
and make your presentation its very best. |
