X-Streamers.com provided
the streamer and confetti effect for the Closing General Session
at Event Solutions 2003.
We decided on red,
white and blue tissue mixed with red, white and blue metallic
streamers and confetti.
We
used 24 of our XC-2 style, dual-barrel launchers with a combination
of 1” x
36" and 2” x 24” barrels.
They were placed in
the down stage lighting truss, as well as behind the sub woofers
and on the lighting towers that were placed around the room.
One
of the challenges we faced is that Kevin Bilida from TLC insisted
that we use
our XC-2 confetti and streamer launchers for the closing session.
(They are the industry favorite and thankfully, Kevin's favorite
too! In fact it is his "Go To" launcher for his confetti
and streamer shots!)
Unfortunately, because
it was summer tour season, and the last minute nature of this
event, most of our XC-2's were being used on various tours and unavailable.
When we
only had four left to offer, Kevin graciously loaned us some of his XC-2's
to fill in. Now
that’s
teamwork.
The
effect was produced by dividing the launchers into 2 zones
and then firing them
in 2 shots. The first shot kind of grabs everyone’s attention,
and the second one adds the “Wow Power” that Bollotta
was looking for at the close of the show!
The shot was a big
success and really helped kick the crowd up a notch!
