and Proclaim Yourself with Your Webcam

We've found a great tool for communication using a webcam, and it's due to be every bit as helpful as emails, texting and cellphones in the future. Proclaim is so easy to use, a child could master it in an hour, and we can even use it with our virtual characters on the screen. Don't be left out of the high-tech loop.

People just know that learning how to use technology to communicate better is worth the effort.

Take a look!

CHOPS on Proclaim

Large and Small Secure Rich Media
Right Under Your Nose

It's a natural movement from animation to video tools and we've discovered one of the greatest in Proclaim, by Netbriefings of Minnesota. Netbriefings is actually a full-service, highly trusted webcasting company that came up with a great product for businesspeople and consumers - Proclaim. You'll have to try Proclaim to really understand just how easy it is to use and how effective the messaging can be.

Digital Dan on SkypeObviously, there are many ways to use video on the web - in storytelling on YouTube, for social purposes on My Space and Facebook, for advertising on high end websites, for webcams where people connect via Skype or Yahoo Messenger and talk while looking at each other. There are even sites for people with webcams to visit with each other - total strangers - yet connected by technology in a different way.

So what is the appeal of webcams? For one, you can see each other and experience the non-verbal messages which are usually emotional, and communicate feelings and states of mind. That is what is lacking in email. For people who are familiar with each other, but far away, this is essential. For strangers, it's a way to build trust and empathy, opening the door to long-term relationships that involve more than occassional emails or chat sessions.

At CHOPS, webcams and Proclaim are used as teaching tools - helping people understand the promises offered by real-time live animation in their own lives. We can easily give someone a taste of the real experience, without using any time or travel resources, by simply showing up on their computer's desktop.

Proclaim screen

This is the screen our viewers see on their computer when they receive a Proclaim message from CHOPS.

  • Area 1 - This is where the webcam video shows up, with its player controls. The viewer can control the volume here and replay the video. In live feeds, this is where the presenter is seen.

  • Area 2 - This is text information that the presenter enters to title the presentation and leave a short text message, as well as recording the date and time of the program.

  • Area 3 - This large area can contain still images in the Powerpoint format, as well as several types of video files. The presenter easily uploads the Powerpoint file and the application does the rest, converting the sizes, fonts and graphics into individual slides. Once imported, the presenter can change the order and control the presentation live from his desktop.

Of course, the image of you in your webcam would be in Area 1. We're just showing off a little, by putting up a live video presentation of our two Fish People characters.

And one of the greatest things about Proclaim is that you can make a live presentation using this tool or you can make what we call an "archive," a presentation that plays on-demand from a link in an email. Your live audience can simply click on the link that you email to them in order to attend at a given time, and they can hear you on their computers. If you want to make it even more interactive, you can use this tool along with a conference call. And since almost everyone has Flash on their computers, no downloads or special players are needed. It will seem so simple, once you've done it.

There's a lot more to the Proclaim story - this is just a little taste. So that you can really experience it, Netbriefings and we are offering a free trial of the application, and we welcome you to give it your own test.

Additionally, you can sign up here for an online demo by CHOPS, done from my own desktop, using Glance, which lets you look in on the process as if you were looking over my shoulder. I will be able to train you in less than half an hour to create your own live or on-demand web email responses and Powerpoint presentations that you can make every day. Imagine being able to answer emails with a short video response that could even contain another video spot or slideshow inside it. It is truly rich media when used in this way.

Proclaim logoContact me today to set an appointment for your free online lesson on how to get up and running in Proclaim in 5 easy steps. We recommend that you have a webcam installed (with a microphone) and have a short Powerpoint slide show ready for a complete test. Your Powerpoint could have only one slide, if you want, or a couple dozen.

Communicating across the Web with personalized videos is a business necessity you won't want to be without. Did anyone worry about ROI for emails or cell phones? People just know that better communications have an intrinsic value once they are adopted. People (like CHOPS) who use Wordpress for their blogs can post directly to their blogs from Proclaim.

Give Proclaim a chance and contact me today at the link above for a free trial and online personalized lesson by a real (or cyber) human, from my webcam to yours.
