Once Upon a Wednesday

It was a dark and stormy night at the convention center. Outside the loading dock, semi-trucks and vans were backed up for six blocks, as their drivers paced the narrow streets of the rear entrance. Two men huddled under an overhang and shared a cigarette. The scene at the dock was even more chaotic, with forklifts buzzing from trailer to trailer like overgrown hummingbirds, feeding on the precious contents in tan pine boxes until the trailers were emptied and replaced by those next in line. It wasn't the first time I had seen this action. Whether it was Las Vegas or Chicago, above ground or deep in the recesses of one of the giant centers like McCormick, this was typical of the days before a large event. More to come ....

Counting my blessings

I've surprised myself today, by sitting in my office, and counting my blessings on Thanksgiving. The surprise is that I have had a love-hate relationship with work for the past few years, and usually, I would find any way to avoid work and the office, if I could. But today, it is all good. I am done feeling bad about marketing and sales. I have always loved the performance aspect, but not having to do the time-consuming work of marketing, especially when the results have been so slow to come in, lately. Now it is becoming clear that so much of it has to do with my own attitude. That is pretty humbling, but knowing it also opens a lot of doors. I look forward to sitting here tomorrow, getting creative and perhaps even preparing my first video posting for Google video and my vlog. That is the CHOPS Experiment - venturing into the world of web video with my cast of characters who are more than anxious to have their say. See you in the funnies!

Kicking off the CHOPS Experiment

Welcome to the laboratory where beings are created in the likeness of their master, "CyberHumans" who dwell in the electronic reaches of cyberspace, and visit us occasionally. They grace our presence through streaming video technology and show us the fine line between our human nature and our artificial nature. In this experiment we will attempt to learn more about the edge of that line.
